1. Jackson – where to stay in Jackson Hole for the first time

The historic town of Jackson is the main town in the valley is perfect for anyone who’s looking for a well-rounded experience while visiting the Jackson Hole area in Wyoming! Jackson has all the modern amenities you need, but it’s still pretty close to all the natural spots around the area.

Besides its numerous attractions, including museums, rodeos, and its historic town square, Jackson also offers easy access to Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park, so expect a lot of travelers! All the more reason to book your hotels in advance for this one since it’s a super popular destination in Wyoming!

If you’re visiting during the ski season, you’re one lucky traveler! The Snow King Mountain Resort is located right here in town and the Jackson Hole mountain resort is just a short drive away near Teton Village (which I will talk about shortly). It’s the perfect place for anyone looking for some fun winter activities during their holiday.

Don’t worry though, the summer months also offer plenty of outdoor activities! One of my favorites is the National Elk Refuge, where you get to spot one of the largest elk herds in the world! You’ll also find lots of parks and if you’re looking for restaurants then check the town square within walking distance of most hotels. Sounds like the perfect mix to me!

There are also a lot of fishing-friendly spots in the park if you’re into that activity.

If you’re traveling in your car to the park, I highly recommend taking some of the most scenic drives here, like the Jenny Lake drive! If you don’t have your own, I highly recommend renting one for this adventure!

Many tourists usually choose to stay in the towns near the national parks when it comes to accommodations as they generally have more options and facilities.
